Mifflinburg’s Fourth Annual Summer History Day Camp

— MIFFLINBURG — The History Day Camp scheduled for July 8, 9 and 10 is now accepting enrollment on a first come basis. The camp is a collaborative effort with Mifflinburg Heritage & Revitalization Association’s Elm Street Program and the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum.

The Day Camp is for children 5 to 12 years of age and will allow them to experience Mifflinburg as it was in the 1800s through the Market Street Log House and the Elias Church as well as the Victorian era of the 1890s at the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum. Activities include an architectural scavenger hunt in the town’s historic district and building miniature log cabins. Campers will try their hands at tinsmithing, and calligraphy. They will also be exploring all things domestic by sewing bean bags, baking bread and planting in the garden.

Camp begins with a gathering at the Elias Center and the children will rotate through stations during the day. They will enjoy lunch at the Buggy Museum’s Visitor Center. Campers must bring their own packed lunch and drink. At the end of the day, children will gather for a snack and group activities.

Pre-registration is required. This is a one-day camp. Choose which day works best for you. Each day’s session will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost is $15 per child for a one day session. Group rates are available. For more information or to register, call (570) 966-0888. Register by July 3.
