LAURELTON — Join Mifflinburg Area School District Home School Coordinator Scott Zimmerman to ask questions and learn about the requirements and reporting to homeschool your child during a program at the West End Library at 6 p.m. March 13. Mary Pucci from the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School and parents who are currently involved in homeschooling are available to share information.
Home-based education is one of the fastest growing forms of education in the United States. Most parents and youth decide to homeschool for a variety of reasons. Among the most common reasons are: customizing or individualizing the curriculum and learning environment for each child, accomplishing more academically than in public schools, enhancing family relationships between children and parents and among siblings, and teaching and imparting a particular set of values, beliefs, and worldview to children and youth.
