Michigan man pleads guilty in sex case

— LEWISBURG — Sentencing comes in April for a Michigan man charged in Union County with sexually assaulting two children during a September 2012 visit to Lewisburg for a wedding.

Christopher Robbins, 31, of Lansing, Mich., recently pleaded guilty to all charges in Union County Court, according to court documents.

He was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child and two counts of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, all first-degree felonies. He also was charged with indecent assault of a person younger than 13, a misdemeanor.

The Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board informed Union County on Jan. 28 that it would begin a Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act study. This is a case-by-case examination that results in a set of minimum standards for sex offender registration and notification.

The board expects to return its findings to Union County by April 14, court documents state. Sentencing is scheduled for April 21.

Lansing police received the initial complaint Oct. 29, 2012, from the mother of the two victims, a 7-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. The mother said the incidents occurred Sept. 2 at a hotel, where they were staying and attending a wedding.

Lansing police contacted Buffalo Valley Regional police and sent them a copy of the police report and two computer discs with three videotaped interviews, according to court documents.
