Lewisburg Area Community Calendar



The free monthly community meal held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. 404 Market St. Use alley entrance — elevator available. Free to anyone. Lasagna, salad, bread and homemade apple dumplings served in the church basement.

DUTCH BUFFET/Mifflinburg

Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, will host a Pennsylvania Dutch buffet from 4-7 p.m. The all homemade menu includes chicken potpie, pickled cabbage, biscuits and applesauce plus all homemade desserts. Cost is $7/adults and $5/children 10 and younger. Take out is available for $8. Proceeds to support Operation Christmas Child. Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren is located at 45 Brethren Church Road (Route 45).


Calvary Baptist Church’s Women’s Fall Conference will be held from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 332 E. Chestnut St., along Route 45. Theme is “Sharing Our Faith.” Featuring Sherrie Holloway of Baptist Bible College and a concert by the Praise Singers from Penn View Bible Institute of Penns Creek. Oktoberfest continues from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. at the VFW carnival grounds just west of town on Route 45. Parking is free. Admission is free unless a wristband for beer and wine is purchased. No pets, except for certified service animals. There will be plenty of German food specialties. Music includes the One Man German Band from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4 p.m., Black Run Bohemian Dancers 2-3 p.m., The Pleasant Valley Dancers 4-5:30 p.m. and Musik Werke from 6-10 p.m. Oktoberfest German beers imported from Munich or the German style wines available. For designated drivers, MHRA will once again provide free birch beer. A valid driver’s license must be shown to receive a designated driver wristband. A Keg Toss (1 p.m.) and Mug Lift (3 p.m.) competitions will also be held. Hay rides will also be available. Sponsored by MHRA.
