Monday night's East Buffalo Township supervisors meeting had more news that the Daily Item had room. Here are other important issues taken up at the meeting:
- The municipal building complex project is on schedule, architect Ted Strosser told officials, though the public works garage part is lagging behind slightly. Supervisors approved using CPS Telecommunications of Mifflinburg for the complex’s phone system at a cost of $5,763.18.
- Supervisors will need to revisit 19 conditional use and 24 special exceptions permits, Planning Director Ralph Hess said. Their terms are inconsistent, and some seem to exist for no reason, he said.
- Supervisors also approved changing the name of the Lewisburg Area Recreation Authority to the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority. Township Manager Stacey Kifolo said the intergovernmental agreement with Lewisburg borough that runs the organization is nearing completion, and she expects boards of both municipalities to take action on it in April. The name change reflects the more regional use of the park, she said, noting that many people outside of Lewisburg as well as outside Union County use the group's services.
