Dinner and auction raises $7K for library

— MIFFLINBURG — Over $7,000 was raised at the second annual Herr Library Dinner & Auction, held Oct. 19 at The Cellars at Brookpark Farm, Lewisburg.

The big ticket item of the night, selling for $500 was a cherry Penn State table donated by Edelholz at the Point Barn. Other items included tickets to a Penn State Game, a week-long stay at Treasure Lake and a weekend sailing excursion.

“It was such a great event,” said Library Director Kelly Walter. “And all the funds we raised will only help us serve our community better.”

Along with the live auction, guests enjoyed a selection of wine donated by Shade Mountain Winery, a buffet dinner and dessert assortment. There were also wine balloons for purchase and raffle prizes.

“This event could not have been a success without the support of our community, the library staff and our advisory board,” said Walter. “We couldn’t do this without them.”

The library also wishes to thank guest auctioneer Brian “Buck” Glass, of Mifflinburg, Shade Mountain Winery and Kyle Ard and The Cellars at Brookpark Farm, as well as those who donated wine, items or service to make this annual fundraiser a success.

Next year’s Dinner & Auction is slated for Oct. 18 at the Carriage Corner Restaurant.
