— MIFFLINBURG AREA INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
The October recipients of the Mifflinburg Intermediate School’s ASPIRES award have been announced. This award, sponsored by the Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club, recognizes students in grades three through five who have displayed positive behaviors consistent with the school’s anti-bullying campaign. The students are chosen by the homeroom teachers and each will receive a special certificate and $20 at the final school assembly in May.
Raven VonNeida, daughter of Wendy VonNeida, of Hartleton, is the third grader being awarded. She is in Mr. Hummel’s homeroom and her favorite class is art. Raven is a Girl Scout and enjoys collecting rocks and shells. She would someday like to become a veterinarian.
In fourth grade, Andrew Snook, son of Dave and Stacy Snook, of Mifflinburg, has received the honor in Mrs. Warren’s homeroom. Andrew’s favorite subject is gym and he collects toy tractors, plays basketball and is on the Braves baseball team. Andrew loves spending time with his pap and hopes to become a farmer.
Cooper White, son of Fred and Stacy White, of Mifflinburg, has been selected by Mrs. Miller to be the fifth grade recipient. His favorite class is gym and he plays drums in the school band. Cooper plays soccer and midget football for the Eagles. He would like to become a professional athlete, either in football or soccer.
