MIFFLINBURG AREA MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Mifflinburg Area Middle School announces its selections for the P.R.I.D.E. Award for the Student of the Month for October. Students are selected by their teachers on the criteria of Positive attitude, Respect for others and Regular attendance, Involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, Demonstrate honest and integrity, and have Enthusiasm for learning. At the awards assembly at the end of the school year, each recipient will receive a certificate, cash prize, and Lions Club memento from the Millmont West Union Area lions Club, the sponsor of the Student of the Month Award.
Kiley Aikey, sixth grade, is the daughter of Jamie and Jon Aikey, of Mifflinburg. In school, her favorite subject is science, and she is a member of the chorus, the Art Club, and Builders Club. In summer she is a member of the swim team, and in the youth group at her church. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her little brother and sister, drawing, playing Xbox, singing, creative painting, designing clothes, reading, shopping, writing poems and songs, spending time with friends, and helping others in need. In the future, Kiley would like to be a scientist who finds new ways to cure cancer.
Kassidy Zartman, seventh grade, is the daughter of Will Zartman and Kristi Duke, of New Berlin. Communications is her favorite subject in school, where she is in the marching band, FCCLA, and jr. high basketball. In her spare time she enjoys English horseback riding, and playing soccer. She also likes to draw, read, and do free writing. In the future, Kassidy would like to be a large-animal veterinarian.
Aiden Bomgardner, eighth grade, is the son of Daryl and Carrie Bomgardner, of Mifflinburg. In school, his favorite class is communications. School activities include chorus, TSA, jr. high football and baseball, and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He is a youth group member at Mifflinburg United Methodist Church, and a member of the 4-H, where he enjoys showing pigs. He also enjoys video games in his spare time. In the future, Aiden would like to be a computer programmer.
