Community Aid awards $5,000 Grant to American Red Cross SUN Chapter for Local Disaster Relief

— LEWISBURG — Community Aid has donated $5,000 to the American Red Cross — SUN Chapter. Director Glenn Chandler shares, “Thanks to the generous support from our community, we are blessed to be able to share these resources with an organization that we know and trust. We hope these funds will bring families peace during a time of personal chaos.”

Community Aid has signed a 10 year lease to open the largest thrift department store in the United States at the former Value City department store, located at 1060 N. Susquehanna Trail. The store will open in March of 2014. Collection bins are already on site.

Since July of 2009, Community Aid has been able to give cash grants exceeding $2.3 million to over 200 partners. This money is used to support and fund projects that help people right here in our communities. Community Aid has also given out over $200,000 in free Clothing Care cards.

Community Aid is a faith-based nonprofit organization with a mission to serve the community by creating good jobs.
