Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club Plans Flag Flying Fundraiser

— LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club is selling sponsorships for American flags in its inaugural campaign of “Flags to Honor Heroes. ”With the generous support of the Lewisburg area community, it is possible that 150 flags will be on display during the Memorial Day holiday on the lawn of Country Cupboard.

The Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club invites all community members to honor heroes by sponsoring a flag for a $50 donation. Flag sponsorships can honor veterans, those currently serving our country, first responders and personal heroes. The flags are 5 feet by 3 feet in size and each one will fly upon a 10 foot pole, creating a powerful display of patriotism and honor that will be seen anyone traveling on Route 15 in the Lewisburg area.

“It’s a great way to honor a loved one or someone who made a difference in your life,” said Rotarian Swan Stull, club president.

Proceeds from flag sponsorships will be given to community organizations. A list of sponsors and those honored will be published in all of the local newspapers and will be available to sponsors in a printed booklet.

The Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club has been serving the community since 1991 through volunteerism and raising money for scholarships and community projects. They ask for your support in order to continue to be of service, joining 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide in fulfilling the primary mission of Rotary for ‘Service Above Self.”

Flyers with sponsorship forms have been placed in downtown businesses. For more information or to sponsor a flag, contact Swan Stull at or (570) 713-9516.
