— LEWISBURG -- Rail Trail fans, listen up: An informational meeting on the proposed extension of the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail into Lewisburg borough takes place 7 p.m. tomorrow at the William Cameron Engine Co's. training facility at North Fifth Street and Buffalo Road.
Attendees will see a general overview of the extension with a focus on the section from Fifth Street to the Susquehanna River. Also, several preliminary concept designs for the St. John Street section will be available.
The public will be able to comment after the presentations.
The BVRT proposed extension is a collaborative effort led by the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority with Lewisburg borough and East Buffalo Township. Faculty and students of Bucknell University's Department of Civil Engineering and project consultant Larson Design Group provide technical assistance.
A $5,000 mini-grant from the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership funds the project .
