The Daily Item

— LEWISBURG — Time is running out to submit your memoir to the Union County Library System’s writing project entitled, “Union County — My Memories: Stories in Celebration of the Union County Bicentennial”—a project coinciding with the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Union County.

Residents of all ages are invited to submit a memoir of their own, using no more than 200 words, about Union County. Possible topics include growing up in Union County, a person of influence, local impact of a world event, focus on a special location, event or activity, reflections on a personal photo, or first impressions as a new resident to the county.

Completed memories can be submitted on the Union County Bicentennial website at UnionCounty200.com or on any of the UCLS library websites — Public Library for Union County, www.publibuc.org; Herr Memorial Library, www.herrlibrary.org; or West End Library, www.westendlibrary.org—and must be received by Oct. 15.

Typed entries may be submitted along with a completed registration form available at any of the UCLS libraries in Lewisburg, Mifflinburg or Laurelton.

The submissions and a photo of the author will be displayed at the Public Library for Union County in Lewisburg, Herr Memorial Library in Mifflinburg and West End Library in Laurelton during the month of November.
