B's Tees for Veteran Needs Fundraiser

— LEWISBURG — Every semester, Bucknell University offers a class known as Management 101. The class is very interactive, and allows the students to form a company and sell a product of their own design. The profits made by selling these products go towards a service project of their choosing. This semester, the students of company B’s Tees for Veteran Needs are selling Bucknell themed “Fraternity Collection” T-shirts in order to raise money for the veterans from the Union County area and their families. The proceeds will go towards the organization of the American Legion Pancake Breakfast of Lewisburg to honor veterans and their families and to celebrate their devotion to our country.

The pancake breakfast will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at the American Legion, and will be cooked and prepared by the students of B’s Tees for Veteran Needs. Adults will be charged $5 at the door, and children 12 and under eat free. This will grant the opportunity for the students to express their gratitude to the veterans, and provide an environment for the community to come together. Company B will donate any extra money to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Company B will also strive to bring awareness to the Bucknell community. B’s Tees for Veteran Needs will invite several speakers from the American Legion to come and speak on a panel to members of the Bucknell community about their various experiences, followed by a Q&A session. The panel will take place from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Dana Gardener Auditorium.

B’s Tees for Veteran Needs will also host an event called “Take 5”, which entails taking five minutes to stop by a table in the Elaine Langone Center Mall to write a thank you card to a veteran. There will be thank you card supplies, as well as Take-5 candy bars. These thank you cards will be mailed by Emily and Abby to Operation Gratitude, who will distribute them to active, reserve, and veteran soldiers. Students and faculty can stop by the table in the LC Mall on Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
