SUNBURY — Central Susquehanna Sight Services, Inc. (CSSS) held its 15th Annual Lions Appreciation Night on Nov. 15 at the Townside Garden Café in Northumberland. James McCann, president of CSSS, welcomed the Lions Clubs in attendance. “This is a night for Central Susquehanna Sight Services to thank the Lions and Lioness Clubs of District 14G for their support through the year and to ask for their support in the upcoming year.” Since the inception of this event, the Lions and Lioness Clubs have pledged over $47,100 to the programs and services of CSSS. Benton, Berwick, Herndon, Mount Carmel, Northumberland, Shamokin Dam, Sunbury, and Turbotville Lions and the Turbotville Area Lioness clubs have pledged $5,000 this year.
District Governor Jim Keener, guest speaker, told the group it is estimated there are over 6,350 people in Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties with a vision loss. He encouraged the clubs of District 14G to include Central Susquehanna Sight Services in their budgets for the upcoming year.
McCann concluded the evening by thanking the Lions for their hard-efforts to raise funds in this economic climate.
