Sixth graders at Line Mountain perform play on Responsibility

TREVORTON — The Line Mountain elementary schools studied the Character Goal Responsibility as part of the Responsive Classroom initiative. Sixth grade students volunteered to present a play called “The Excuse Olympics” to the three elementary schools. The play involved contestants that messed up in some way and each competes in a mock Olympic setting to give the best excuse.

There are two sportscasters that provide commentary on each, and the panel of judges gives them ratings of one to 10. It is a light-hearted look at the lengths to which we will go to avoid not only our responsibilities, but admission of mistakes.

Students that participated were Griffin Smeltz, Riley Kieffer, Delaney Klinger, Morgan Keim, Logan Sandefer, Tyler Holtzman, Marissa Campbell, Ronee Teiter, Will Hunter, Connor Hause, Alexandra Herb, Tawney Rebuck, Tasha Schadel, and William Lessing.
