Ten adults displaced by Snyder County fire Tuesday night

SELINSGROVE —

FREEBURG – Ten adults were forced out of their rental home in Washingrton Township Tuesday night after fire broke out and destroyed the structure.

The fire was sparked by a light bulb left burning in a second floor closet at 262 Creek Mountain Road, Freeburg Fire Chief Jason Kaufman said.

The home, owned by Marshall Bowersox of Middleburg and leased to 10 adults, was a total loss, he said.

All of the occupants escaped without injury and are now staying with relatives, said Kaufman.
