Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania announced that Jacqueline Hauck has earned the Girl Scout’s highest honor, the Gold Award. A 2013 graduate of Midd-West High School, Hauck recently completed her Gold Award project titled Dress a Girl Around the World.
Dress a Girl Around the World, a project developed and executed by Hauck, spearheaded an effort to create 300 dresses for less fortunate girls and women for distribution through local community outreach centers.
When describing what she’d learned from her project, Hauck stated, “It gave me a great opportunity to make a difference.”
“Earning the Girl Scout Gold Award designation is truly a remarkable achievement, and this young woman exemplifies leadership in all its forms,” says Jane Ransom, chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. “She saw a need in her community and took action. Her extraordinary dedication, perseverance, and leadership, is making the world a better place.”
Hauck, a former member of Troop 61293, was the treasurer of concert band while also a member of marching band, National Honor Society and student council at Midd-West High School. She plans to attend Bloomsburg University this fall where she will study accounting.
