MIDDLEBURG -- Midd-West Middle School held its annual awards assemblies on May 21 and 22. Three hundred and fifty awards were presented to 194 students in grades 6 and 7 as recognition for their achievements during the school year. Parents were invited to attend to help celebrate their students’ accomplishments. Students were recognized in the following categories: Distinguished Honor Roll Achievement, Honor Roll Achievement, Perfect Attendance, PA Mathematics League top scorers, National Science League top scorers, Spelling Bee top spellers, Outstanding Students per Subject, Students of the Month, Independent Reading Goals, PJAS participants and winners, National History Day Contest participants, Most Improved Students, Highest GPA, and Mustang Pride Award. Students received certificates, medallions, trophies, and/or ribbons. As an exciting addition to the awards this year, Horace Mann donated a Kindle to each of the two Mustang Pride winners, Cole Sauer and Chloe Lantz.
