Women threatens life of 9-year-old who kicked mulch in grandson's face

MIDDLEBURG — A 49-year-old woman is accused of grabbing a 9-year-old boy by the throat and threatening to kill him after he kicked mulch in her grandson’s eyes while swinging in a Middleburg playground.

Cindy R. Jacques, 49, of White Hall, Montana, assaulted the child in Drake Court on April 6, court records filed by borough police allege.

The 9-year-old boy said he was swinging and kicked mulch into the other boy’s face when he refused to get out of the way.

The other boy left the playground and soon after Jacques showed up. She grabbed the 9-year-old around the neck as he sat on the swing and threatened, “If you ever touch my grandson again I’ll kill you,” court records said.

Jacques was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct by District Judge Lori R. Hackenberg who set bail at $20,000 unsecured pending an April 25 preliminary hearing.
