The Daily Item

— BEAVER SPRINGS — The Midd-West Relay For Life is seeking volunteers in western Snyder County to help plan and participate in the 2014 event. From organizing teams, planning entertainment, fundraising events, and publicity — there are many different ways to get involved and help make this event successful. Walkers, cancer survivors, and caregivers — anyone wanting to make a difference can lend a hand and is welcome and encouraged to participate. The Midd-West Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against the disease. The Relay For Life is all about celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost, and fighting back against the disease.

The theme of this year’s event is Run For Your Life — “De-Feet” Cancer. It will be held at the Beaver Fairgrounds on June 20-21. The honorary chairpersons are Betty Drumheller, Clayton Smeltz, and Rick Soles.

The Midd-West Relay For Life committee meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at Vince’s Restaurant located along Route 522 in Beaver Springs beginning at 6:30 p.m.
