MIFFLINBURG -- The Mifflinburg Area Middle School announces its selections for the P.R.I.D.E. Award for the Student of the Month for April. Students are selected by their teachers on the criteria of Positive attitude, Respect for others and Regular attendance, Involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, Demonstrate honesty and integrity, and have Enthusiasm for learning. At the awards assembly at the end of the school year, each recipient will receive a certificate, cash prize, and Lions Club memento from the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club, the sponsor of the Student of the Month award.
Eric Zimmerman, sixth grade, is a son of Beth and Scott Zimmerman, of Mifflinburg. Science is his favorite subject in school, where he sings in the school chorus. He is a member of the Mifflinburg Travel Baseball team, the Good News Club, and Little League baseball. Other things Eric likes to do is hunting and fishing. In the future he would like to be a professional baseball player or a teacher.
Eli Yoder, seventh grade, is a son of Paul and Angie Yoder, of Mifflinburg. In school his favorite class is social studies, and he is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He enjoys soccer and is a soccer referee. He is a member of the youth group at Freedom Fellowship Church. Other things Eli likes to do is swimming, fishing, and cycling. In the future he would like to be an engineer.
Stephanie Bottiger, eighth grade, is a daughter of Paul and Dawn Bottiger, of Mifflinburg. Algebra and social studies are her favorite subjects in school, where she is a member of the Builder’s Club, FCCLA, and the Stock Market. She is a cheerleader and enjoys basketball. Stephanie likes to watch crime shows on TV and listen to music. In the future she would like to be a criminal profiler.
