MIFFLNBURG -- The Mifflinburg Area Middle School announces its selections for the P.R.I.D.E. Award for the Student of the Month for February. Students are selected by their teachers on the criteria of Positive attitude, Respect for others and Regular attendance, Involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, Demonstrate honesty and integrity, and have Enthusiasm for learning. At the awards assembly at the end of the school year, each recipient will receive a certificate, cash prize, and Lions Club memento from the Millmont West Union Area Lions club, the sponsor of the Student of the Month Award.
Brianna Doebler, sixth grade, is a daughter of Wendy and Wayne Doebler, of Mifflinburg. Science is her favorite subject in school, where she is a member of the band and chorus. She enjoy running after school with Mr. Allen, and playing biddy ball (basketball). She is a Girl Scout, and in the children’s choir and youth group at her church. She plays Little League and ASA softball and basketball. Brianna likes doing arts and crafts, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Danielle Underhill, seventh grade, is a daughter of Holly and D.J. Underhill, of New Berlin. In school, Social studies is her favorite class, and she is on the seventh grade basketball team. In her spare time, Danielle likes to play guitar, listen to music, go camping and kayaking. In the future she would like to be a musician.
Megan Nogle, eighth grade, is the daughter of Kim Zimmerman and Wayne Nogle, of Mifflinburg. Science is her favorite subject in school, where she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the Builders Club, and runs cross country. Megan is on the summer swim team, and in the winter is on the SUNY swim team. She also enjoys biking, running, doing triathlons, and being with her family and friends. In the future, she would like to be a meteorologist.
