LEWISBURG — As the weather improves, more and more people are enjoying the benefits of the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail. Most trail users follow the Rail Trail guidelines, but some users are neglecting to follow the guidelines where their pooches are concerned.
Muffy, Fluffy, Fido, or Bruiser the Bowser belong on a leash, as close to you as possible. Retractable leashes are fine, as long as dog owners retract the leashes when people are coming towards them or from behind. Please control your canine.
It's great to take our beloved pooches on the trail. But, remember to clean up after your dog. Bring a doggie bag, do your duty after your dog does his/hers, and keep the trail clean for all users. We all share the trail and must be mindful of everyone using it.
There are no trash receptacles on the Trail. Keep your doggie bag with you until you get home where you can dispose of it properly.
The Buffalo Valley Rail Trail is meant for everyone and that means we are all part of the Rail Trail community. Do your part to keep the Trail clean and safe. Be mindful of others. Be mindful of your dog.
BVRec doesn't want to take the next step of monitoring the Rail Trail a la a "Poop Patrol." Please clean up after your dog.
