New program warns kids to 'steer clear' of distracted driving

MILTON - Kidz4Education, a division of Kingdom Kidz, and Lawton Insurance,  of Lewisburg are partnering together to present an innovative, interactive program for middle school students beginning in fall 2013, called "Steer Clear of Distracted Driving."

The program is endorsed by the Business and Education committee of the Central PA Chamber of Commerce.

The program will include Steve Everitt, an insurance agent for Lawton Insurance, a police officer and a parent or sibling of a teen who was injured or killed due to distracted driving.

Donna Bridge, president and chief executive officer of Kingdom Kidz, announced that beginning Feb. 1, a capital campaign will begin to implement this three-year launch into 29 schools in Central Pennsylvania, reaching over 12,000 students and costing approximately $65,000.00.
