MILTON — GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Milton initiated two new members and finalized plans for a purse bingo and the arts competition at a recent meeting.
Membership chairman Melinda Overdorf conducted the candlelight initiation ceremony for Kelly Aucker and Lauren Seibert. President JoEllen Fedder welcomed the new members.
The Vera Bradley/Thirty-One Bingo will be held March 3 at the Milton Masonic Lodge. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with the early bird bingo beginning at 1:45 and regular bingo at 2 p.m. Anyone bringing a non-perishable food item will be given a free early bird card. The person bringing the most items will receive raffle tickets. All food items will be donated to the Milton Food Bank.
Plans to receive and judge entries for the arts contest were discussed. Sharon Craig and Lauren Seibert are handling the short story and poetry divisions for elementary and high school students. Arts chairman Anita Keiser is taking care of the art and photography entries.
Miranda Pardoe, daughter of Carl and Gina Pardoe, will represent the club in the annual Harvest Festival Princess Pageant.
The club will also distribute food baskets to three needy families before Easter.
