LEWISBURG - A total of 407 customers are without power this afternoon in the Central Susquehanna Valley.
PPL reports that 208 customers in Union County, 188 customers in Snyder County and 11 in Northumberland County were without power at about 4 p.m.
Citizen's Electric, which serves about 6,800 customers in Union County, reports no power outages this afternoon. Line repair crews from Peace River Electric Cooperative in Wauchula, Fla, are expected to arrive Tuesday to assist Citizen's Electric with any repairs.
High winds are expected to create many more power problems later today and Tuesday.

LEWISBURG - Additional line repair crews from Florida are traveling to Union County to assist Citizen's Electric during this week's storm and aftermath.
Citizen's Electric serves about 6,800 customers in Union County.
11:11 a.m. Monday:
SHAMOKIIN - More than 2,000 people in Coal Township are without power, according to PPL.
The Northumberland County Emergency Operations Center announced that a Red Cross shelter will open at Shamokin Area High School at noon.
Pets are not permitted at the shelter, but arrangements have been made to house animals in a kennel on the site. Animals must be on leashes and owners are expected to bring food for their animals. If medications for the animals are needed, it should be brought too.

SUNBURY — Officials at PPL said today that Hurricane Sandy could bring unprecedented damage to our communities, but there is still time to make preparations to be save when the severe weather arrives.
“We are doing everything possible to prepare,” said Greg Dudkin, president of PPL Electric Utilities. “We are committed to keeping customers and the public informed throughout the storm and restoration process.”
“As part of our preparations, more than 1,500 workers will start arriving on Sunday from other areas of the country to supplement our workforce. However, safety must be the top priority for our customers as well as the workers who will be restoring power,” said Dudkin.
“Workers will be unable to begin the lengthy repair process until the high winds, heavy rains and flooding anticipated with this storm allow us to safely begin restoration work.”
Teri J. MacBride, PPL’s regional community relations director urges customers to prepare for lengthy outages and to take steps to stay safe:
— Stock up on non-perishable food and water and think about how to stay warm if the power goes out.
— Customers who need special consideration due to medical needs should make arrangements to relocate or contact 911 as necessary.
— If you plan to use a portable generator, disconnect from the main breaker and keep the area well ventilated.
— Be careful of wet leaves and check to be sure that outside storm drains are clear to avoid flooding.
