WILLIAMSPORT — UPMC Susquehanna will host a free informative event, “Living With Parkinson’s,” on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Walnut Conference Room, UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport, 700 High St., Williamsport.
“Parkinson’s disease brings challenges for not only those who have been diagnosed, but also their loved ones and caregivers,” said Joy Proctor, DPT, Rehabilitation Services at UPMC Susquehanna. “Our program aims to discuss those challenges, as well as what can be done to maintain and improve quality of life for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.”
In the session, Timothy Wirth, RPh, pharmacist at UPMC Susquehanna, will discuss medications that can help control the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, as well as their potential side effects.
Joy Proctor, DPT, and Ariel Muhs, SLP, from Rehabilitation Services at UPMC Susquehanna, will provide information about the LSVT BIG and LOUD therapies for Parkinson’s patients offered at UPMC Susquehanna.
