DUNCANNON — Audrey Flora Fiebig-Howell, of Duncannon, entered into the eternal loving embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Audrey was born Sept. 8, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late George A. and Audrey Jones-Fiebig. She was also predeceased by her God mother, Flora E. Gebhart, who took her into her love and care. She is the “Flora” in Audrey’s name.
Audrey graduated from Shamokin Area High School and Bloomsburg State College with a degree in early childhood education and social work.
“Miss Audrey” worked at the SACC Program at Susquenita Elementary School, the Roseglen Christian Nursery School and other day care centers and church schools. She cared deeply about every child she taught and always remembered their names and any special story about them. Audrey was a member of Trinity Reform Church, Marysville and was active in the Relay for Life program for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Keith “Red” Howell; her pride and joy, Zachary Howell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Brenda Fiebing, of Marysville, and Gib and Linda Jones, of Shamokin; and many beloved cousins.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Reform Church, 117 Verbeke St., Marysville, followed by the funeral at 1 with Pastor Stacey Goodling officiating.
Interment will be in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville following the services.
In lieu of flowers, Audrey asked that contributions be made to her church, The PA Breast Cancer Coalition or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
