MONTGOMERY — Ronald Jay Stover, 70, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born April 3, 1943, in Muncy, he was a son of Grace F. Newman Stover and the late Edgar S. Stover. He and his wife, the former Judith Lee Paulhamus, celebrated 42 years of marriage on Oct. 2.
Ron was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Class of 1961.
He was employed at the West Co., Montgomery, for 23 years before retiring from General Cable, Montoursville, in 2001.
Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church, Muncy, and Muncy Lodge 299, Free & Accepted Masons.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and, above all, spending time with his granddaughters.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are one daughter and son-in-law, Julie R. and Stephen Padbury, of Newark, Del.; two granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Padbury and Sarah Catherine Padbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rojena K. and Allen Ditzler, of Midland, Mich., and Nancy L. and Roger Rupert, of Hughesville; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry B. and Karen Stover, of Ranton, Mich., and Edgar E. and Karla Stover, of Tacoma, Wash.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, where a Masonic funeral service will be held at 8:45 p.m. by Muncy Lodge 299.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, with the Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating.
Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery.
