MIFFLINBURG — James E. Doyle, 46, beloved husband of Faith (Hulslander) Doyle, passed away quietly at their home in Mifflinburg on Nov. 8, 2013, after bravely battling cancer for several months.
Jim pursued his deep passion in history through research and collecting non-fiction literature of all time periods. Jim also participated in American Civil War reenacting, rising from the rank of private to lieutenant in the 155th New York Volunteer Infantry regiment; becoming a leader and mentor to many along the way.
Jim was a student of history from a young age and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and enjoyment for it with others. A good friend, husband, and pard; Jim’s hearty laugh will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Jim is also survived by his father and mother, Michael and Diane Doyle; his sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Gary Daugherty; his nephew, Matthew Suszka; and his aunt, Linda Savage.
The family will be present from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Woods Funeral Home, 784 Main St., East Aurora, N.Y., for a time of visitation, followed by a memorial service from 11:30 to 12:30. Additional information may be obtained by contacting Woods Funeral Home at (716) 652-5549
