TURBOTVILLE — John A. Long, 80, of Ottawa Road, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Grandview Health Homes, Danville.
He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Milton, a son of the late Samuel and Susan Long. He married the former Betty J. Bieber who survives. They had celebrated 56 years of marriage together.
John was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for the former Masonite Corp., Watsontown and prior to that for Philco-Ford, Zenith Corp., Watsontown.
John was a member of the Watsontown American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel D. and Tina Long, of Exchange; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra A. and Terry Larson, of Muncy; one granddaughter, Angela K. Trivelpeice, of Turbotville; one grandson, Samuel Corey Long, of Oregon; three great-grandchildren, Kylan and Keirra Trivelpeice and Gavin Geiger; and two sisters, Mary and Martha.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chad E. Geiger on Oct. 25, 2006, and 12 brothers and sisters.
At John’s request there will be no visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the family to assist with final expenses in care of the Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, PA 17772
