MILLERSTOWN — Mildred Pauline “Millie” Strawser, 92, of Millerstown, a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed into God’s hands from natural causes on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born July 3, 1920, in Port Trevorton, the daughter of the late William and Sophie (Sholly) Reinard. She was married to Clarence Samuel Strawser, who preceded her in death.
Millie was retired from the Greenwood School District and with her husband was the owner of the former Penn Station Restaurant in Millerstown.
She was a member of Millerstown United Methodist Church.
Millie is survived by her grandchildren, David Strawser and his wife, Michelle, of Carlisle, Matthew Strawser and Heather Strawser, both of Middletown; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Strawser, of Carlisle; one daughter-in-law, Harriet Ann Strawser, of Middletown; and Daniel Comp, of Millerstown, who was like a son.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lamar Dale Strawser, and three brothers, Ceylon, Orville and Marcell Reinard.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, followed by the funeral at 2.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Snyder County.
