— LEWISBURG — Ruth C. Ale, 81, of Lewisburg, formerly of Milton, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.

She was born Oct. 20, 1931, in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Erma (Hoover) Willow.

Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Northumberland High School, where she was in the honor society.

She had been employed by Geisinger Medical Center in food services.

Ruth enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah and Bill Artley and Kathy Hoffner, all of Milton, and Susan Traver, of Sunbury; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Yunhye Ale, of Arnold, Md.; five grandchildren, Wayne Croll, Andrew Hoffner, Kyle Ale, Kaitlyn Ale and Brandon Hoffner; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Hoffner; one brother, Lee Willow, of Vinegrove, Ky.; and one sister, Betty Barnwell, of Milton.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary Traver; one sister, Wilma Dieffenderfer; and one brother, Elwood Willow.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by a memorial service at 11 with the Rev. Alice Rauch, RiverWoods chaplain, officiating.

Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
