— DANVILLE — Richard L. “Rick” Betron Sr., 65, of 134 Smith Road, passed away May 23, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since May 17, 2013.

Born Aug. 11, 1947 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Valentine and Beatrice Betron.

He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1965.

He was last employed for 18 years by Little League Baseball, Inc., International Headquarters in South Williamsport, as Supervisor of shipping and receiving, retiring in 2007 due to his health.

He was a member of Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ, Danville.

He was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge 106, Williamsport, serving three times as Worshipful Master and also as secretary.

He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Fausey (Maust); four children, Richard Jr. and his wife Susan, of Hatboro; Jacqueline Jamison and her husband William, of Williamsport, Denise Schenck and her husband Eric, of Evans City, and Kevin Maust, of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sarah, Anna and Gregory Betron, all of Hatboro, Abby Jamison, of Williamsport; and Wyatt Schenck, of Evans City; three brothers, Philip of Lutz, Fla., Stephen, of Tampa, Fla., and Tiny, of Blue Bell; and one sister, Collene Hartley, of Williamsport.

He was preceded in death by one brother Terry, and one sister, Carolyn Bigelow.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 8, 2013 at the Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ, 1 West Diehl Road, Danville with Pastor Shawn McNett presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Four Diamonds Fund, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Academic Support Building, 600 Centerview Drive, Hershey, PA 17033
