MIFFLINBURG — Gene D. “Jack” Guyer, 73, of 164 Rand Road since 1978, entered into rest at 5:43 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Dec. 21, 1939, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Renoda Zimmerman. On Jan. 4, 1961, he married the former Shirley M. Snyder, who survives.
Jack was employed at Ritz-Craft, Mifflinburg, for many years until he retired.
He enjoyed fishing with his many friends and family, spending time with his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack was best known for his fun wit, joking personality and caring, loving and giving ways to his neighbors and family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene Jr. and Stephanie Guyer, of Shamokin, and Bill and Melissa Guyer, of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Brandi Harris, of Trevorton, Nicole Schroyer, of Trevorton, Lindsay Guyer, of Northumberland, and Corey Guyer, of Middleburg; five great-grandchildren, Austin and Tricia Harris, Andrew and Lilleigh Schroyer and Tristen Reigle; two sisters, Lois Roeby and Martha Kesman; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Shetler, Harry Kline and Warren Swartzlander; one sister, Loretta Grove; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Lillian Snyder.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, with the Rev. Alice Rauch officiating.
