Diane D. White, 61, Kulpmont

— KULPMONT — Diane D. White, 61, of 1007 Spruce St., entered into God’s care on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born Feb. 24, 1952, in Shamokin, a daughter of Lorraine (Krepshaw) Dorkoski, of Mount Carmel, and the late Alexander Dorkoski. On Aug. 25, 1979, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Marion Heights, she married Michael J. White, who survives.

She attended St. Casimir’s grade school and was a 1970 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She attended Empire Beauty School in Bloomsburg.

Diane was employed at SCI, Coal Township, in the personnel office as a human resource analyst. She also had worked in partnership with Mary Ann Daya and Catherine Gratti at their beauty shop in Kulpmont for the past 38 years and assisted her husband with the operation of the former Petal’s Plus Flowers Shop.

Diane was a member of the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Marion Heights, and recently a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel. She was a religious person and endured her illness; she trusted in the Lord that it was His will. She loved the Carmelite Sisters of Maria Hall, Danville, and would visit them as often as she could.

Diane was a very active woman, helping her husband with decorating Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for all the holidays for more than 20 years. She also was active in the Knights of Columbus in Mount Carmel, where she was president of the Ladies of the Fourth Degree for 18 years. She assisted her husband in designing a float of the Blessed Mother, with the theme to “Pray the Rosary” for World Peace, for Mount Carmel’s 125th anniversary. It won first prize.

Diane was a very talented woman in everything she did, including painting pictures. She was always there to help anyone with whatever they were doing or asked her to do.

Diane will be greatly missed and held in the hearts of her husband, Michael; her mother, Lorraine; and the following sisters and brothers, Sandra Wydra and her husband, Walter, of Mount Carmel, Robert A. White, of California, Margarite White, of Oklahoma, Mary Ann Sahaj and her husband, James, of California, and Kenneth Ohl and his wife, Linda, of Lehighton; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 8, and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Church of Our Lady, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with Father David Dormer as the main celebrant. Con-celebrants will be Father Andrew Stahmer, Father Raymond Orloski and Father Martin O. Moran III.

Crypt entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the viewing for the Carmelite Sisters, 1 Maria Hall Drive, Danville, PA 17821.
