Northumberland — Donald E. “Stumpy” Miller, 84 of Wallace Street, passed away at 3:03 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Danville, a son of the late Amos and Helen (Faux) Miller. He has been the companion of the former Mae T. Woolridge since 1963. The couple was married on June 28, 2010.
Donald attended Northumberland High School. He then joined the Army serving until his honorable discharge as a PFC.
Mr. Miller was employed at the Selinsgrove Center where he retired after 32 years of dedicated service.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting deer and camping. He was a talented woodworker and carpenter. He could bring new life to reclaimed lumber creating beautiful furniture and flooring.
Donald also enjoyed attending flea markets and was a great “picker”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his special neighbors Michael and Jaime Spickler, of Northumberland, and his “adopted” grandchildren Shawn, Skyler and Sidney Spickler and his beloved Shih- Tzu, “Doodles.”
Friends and family may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland, where the funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Father Robert Van Deusen. officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
