MILTON — Shirley Joan (Drum) Corson, 71, of Jefferson Street, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born in Montgomery on June 4, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Julia Drum. She was married on July 13, 1963, to Roger D. Corson, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2009.
Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery High School and a 1963 graduate of the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton.
Shirley worked as a registered nurse and as a nurse’s aide trainer at Kramm Healthcare Center in Milton and Watsontown.
She was a member of the Milton Booster Club and the Junior Women’s Club of Milton.
She enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle and board games.
Shirley liked to travel with her husband, go to their cabin at Beaver Lake and to just be out in nature. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pam Corson and Geoffrey Prudhomme, of Pipersville; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark Corson and Kris Kauffman, of Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Jarrett, Devan, Oliver, Margaux and Theodore.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by a memorial service at 3 with the Rev. Cheryl Berner officiating.
A private burial in Muncy Cemetery will be held at a later date.
The family will provide flowers and asks that memorials be made to the Central Susquehanna Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 57 Reitz Blvd., Suite 102, Lewisburg, PA 17837, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
