SUNBURY — Ethel M. Wida, 71, of 1353 Boyle’s Run Road, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at her residence.
She was born May 29, 1941, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Elwood and Carrie (Drumheller) Dobson. On Sept. 23, 1962, she married Michael R. Wida.
Ethel was a 1959 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School.
She was formerly employed at Champ Hats, Creative Playthings, Street’s Poultry and Mandata Poultry.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lower Augusta Township.
Ethel enjoyed the company of people and had many friends. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Michelle and Brian Woodruff and Michael Wida and fiancee, Lesa Nornhold, all of Sunbury, Ann and Douglas Dorman and Tina and Guy Snyder III, all of Dornsife; eight grandchildren, Deanna Bordner and husband, Jeff, Hayley Zulauf and husband, Harold, Doulgas Dorman Jr. and wife, Tangalina, Guy Snyder IV, Marissa Woodruff, Brandon Woodruff, Adam Nornhold and Laine Nornhold; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Hayden, Linley, Kayden, Harmony, Hadley and Makaylee; two brothers, Paul Dobson, of Northumberland, and Earl Dobson, of Sunbury; and two sisters, Irene Heck, of Ohio and Carol Coleman, of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Esther.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday.
Interment will be in St. Elias Reformed Cemetery, Lower Augusta Township.
