DORNSIFE — Agnes M. Cox, 75, of 569 Schwaben Creek Road, where she lived for 47 years, passed into eternity surrounded by her children on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home after an extended battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Kulpmont, a daughter of the late Jacob F. and Agnes M. (Howard) Long. Agnes was married on Sept. 19, 1986, in Trevorton United Methodist Church to Gerald Cox, who survives.
She was a 1956 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School.
Agnes retired as a school bus driver for Marvin Klinger Inc., Dornsife, where she had worked for 37 years.
She was a member of Trevorton Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Idella Rebekah Lodge 58, Dornsife, and the Mandata American Legion Post 504 women’s auxiliary.
She was excited by new technology and enjoyed learning new things. Some of her favorite activities included going out to breakfast and playing Euchre with family. Among her many hobbies were painting ceramics, gardening and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Marie Kehler, of Herndon, and Susan Moseley, of Liverpool; two sons, Lamar Mullen II, of Northumberland, and Jim Mullen, of Orangeville; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Leitzel, of Elizabethville, Lorain Golden, of Halifax, and Evelyn Strohecker, of Dornsife; two brothers, Gene Long, of Elizabethville, and Jacob Long Jr., of Farmersville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lamar Mullen; her second husband, Isaac Ramer; and her baby brother, William.
There will be no viewing. A visitation with the family will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, with a Idella Rebekah service at 9:45, at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 10 with the Rev. Richard Sweppenhiser officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
