SUNBURY — Mildred E. Clayberger, 86, of Sunbury, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Golden Living Center Mansion, Sunbury.
She was born in Seven Points on March 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Natalie (Forney) Swartz. She married Claude K. Clayberger in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1982.
Mildred was a member of Independent Bible Church, Northumberland.
She enjoyed reading and collecting giraffes.
She wrote poetry and composed a book of poems for her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Colin and Karen Clayberger, of Sunbury; six grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Annamaria Clayberger, of Sunbury, Christopher and Stacy Clayberger, of Northumberland, Matthew Clayberger, of Harrisburg, Heather Andrusis, of Danville, Scott and Debra Kelley, of Boston, Mass., and Brian Clayberger, of Apopka, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis, in 1995; one daughter, Diane Kelley, in 2003; one grandson, Jeffrey Clayberger, in 2006; and one brother, Charles Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Independent Bible Church, 138 Leed St., Northumberland.
Interment will take place privately in Miller’s Crossroads United Methodist Cemetery, Shamokin Township.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
