Anna K. Reich Motter, 83, Beavertown

BEAVERTOWN — Anna Kathryn Reich Motter, 83, of 112 Wetzel Ave., went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:44 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born June 27, 1929, at Middle Road, Beavertown, Adam Township, a daughter of the late Homer and Mary (Benfer) Keister. On Jan. 11, 1947, she married the Rev. Harold Leon Reich.

She was educated at the Fiss and Troxelville schools.

Through her life she was employed by Mifflinburg and Beavertown Silk Mill’s and the Selinsgrove State School.

For 18 years, she and her first husband, Harold, pastored at the Christ Community Church in Glen Iron. She was always right by her husband’s side, working at the church or doing visitation. They also had a weekly Christian radio program, “Revival Inspiration,” that could be heard every Sunday afternoon on one of the local radio stations. She loved Jesus and shared that love with her family and all those that she came in contact with. On Jan. 26, 1988, her heart was broken when her beloved husband Harold passed away.

On Nov. 11, 1989, she married Oscar Motter who she shared 15 wonderful years with until his death on Dec. 18, 2004. Anna and her second husband Oscar were member’s of the Beavertown God’s Missionary Church. She currently attended Wayside Bible Church where her son, the Rev. Timothy Reich, is the pastor.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family. She received much spiritual encouragement from WFBM-Christian radio station that she would listen to daily.

Harold and Anna were the parents of five children, Gerald Reich and wife, Linda, and David Reich, of Creek Road, Beavertown, Rev. Darvin Reich and wife, Debbie, of West Ridge Road, Middleburg, the Rev. Timothy Reich and wife, Sherry, of Route 104, Middleburg, and Shirley Reich Sperka and husband, Joe, of Beavertown; 16 grandchildren, Cindy Wagner, Kelly Shiffer, Kahla Peters, Robin Hartzler, Mike, Shane, Mark and Kimberly Reich, Justin and Jonathan Sperka, Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jason Mull, Marine Cpl. Daniel Mull, Army PV2 Jonathan Mull, Krista Culp, Tyler Haines, and Shannon Miller; 18 great-grandchildren, Phillip, Colby and Meghan Wagner, BlakeLee, Brady, Adelyn and Isabella Shiffer, Rainah Haas, Taylor, Tasha, Madyson, Kolten and Andy Reich, Anyssa and Kaden Peters, Collin and Carter Hartzler, Coy and Jaycee Miller and Callie Haines; one great-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Wagner; one sister, Dorothy Imes, of Port Royal; and numerous nieces, nephews and brother and sister’s in-laws.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Snook and Geraldine Viola Keister who died in infancy; one daughter-in-law, Sonya Reich; and brother-in-law, Carl Reich whom she and her husband, Harold helped raise.

Visitors will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Beavertown God’s Missionary Church, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. James Plank, the Rev. Jeff Stratton and the Rev. Richard VonNeida officiating.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Independent Bible Church Cemetery, Beavertown.

Contributions may be made to WFBM-LP FM radio station, Beaver Springs, or the Beavertown God’s Missionary Church building fund.

Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
