LIVERPOOL — Martha U. Minahan, 94, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the Manor at Perry Village, New Bloomfield. She was the wife of the late Leon R. Long and Dr. James J. Minahan.
Martha was born on Sept. 29, 1919, in Liverpool, a daughter of the late Thomas M. and Muriel (Shuler) Ulsh.
She was a graduate of Liverpool High School.
Martha was formerly employed at the First National Bank of Liverpool and served as president for many years.
She was a member of the Liverpool United Methodist church and the United Methodist Women’s.
Martha was a charter member of the Liverpool Civic Club.
She enjoyed traveling and reading.
Mrs. Minahan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Robert Holmes, of Liverpool; two grandchildren, Robert K. Holmes and Michael L. Holmes and his wife Patsy, all of Liverpool; two great-grandchildren, Terry Arnold and his wife Chris, and David Taylor and his wife Traci; and three great-great-grandchildren, Haley, Logan, and Kooper.
Martha was preceded by her sister Janet Long.
There will be no viewing; friends and family are invited to the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral at 11 at the Liverpool United Methodist Church, 209 S. Market St., Liverpool. Officiating will be Pastor Peggy Jones.
Burial will be in the Liverpool Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Martha to her church.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool have been entrusted with the arrangements.
