She was born May 26, 1934, in Northumberland, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Gavason.

She was a 1952 graduate of C.W. Rice High School.

Mary Ann also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Jarron Moore, Tonna Smith, Kelin Bidelspach, Christopher Meeker, Tanner Bidelspach, Brandea Bidelspach, Dylan Martinez, Jack Wadding, Max Wadding, Cooper Wadding and Claudette Bidelspach; one great-grandson, Loudon Smith; three brothers, Harry Gavason, George Gavason and Andrew Gavason; and one sister, Helen Gavason Wagenseller.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and John Gavason.

A celebration of life will be held in Texas at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas, and then in Pennsylvania at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann asked that donations be made in her name to a fund that will be used to purchase items for patient rooms on the stem cell floor at Medical City of Dallas, her home away from home for the past six months. People may send donations to the Mary’s Project Memorial Fund, c/o Chase Bank, 2051 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
