Mary A. Bidelspach, 79, Corinth, Texas

— CORINTH, Texas — Mary A. Gavason Bidelspach, 79, of Corinth, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, after a courageous battle with leukemia. During her six-month journey, Mary Ann touched the hearts of many and fought the fight without one complaint.

She was born May 26, 1934, in Northumberland, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Gavason.

She was a 1952 graduate of C.W. Rice High School.

After graduation, Mary Ann spent one year living in Washington, D.C., working for the FBI. It was at this time that Mary Ann’s heart was taken by Fran Bidelspach. They were married on Oct. 23, 1954, and would have celebrated 59 years of marriage in October. Mary Ann worked in several sales positions over the years, including Kleffels Clothing Store, Shearers Florist and Utz Potato Chips. Mary Ann also was a partner with her husband at Bair’s Chicken in the local farmer markets.

Mary Ann’s most important job in her life was raising her five beautiful children, Craig Bidelspach and Kevin Bidelspach and his wife, Marcee, all of Hanover, Pa., David Bidelspach, of Houston, Texas, Brian Bidelspach and his wife, Tamera, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lori Bidelspach Wadding and husband Mark, of Flower Mound, Texas. Mary Ann also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Jarron Moore, Tonna Smith, Kelin Bidelspach, Christopher Meeker, Tanner Bidelspach, Brandea Bidelspach, Dylan Martinez, Jack Wadding, Max Wadding, Cooper Wadding and Claudette Bidelspach; one great-grandson, Loudon Smith; three brothers, Harry Gavason, George Gavason and Andrew Gavason; and one sister, Helen Gavason Wagenseller.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and John Gavason.

A celebration of life will be held in Texas at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas, and then in Pennsylvania at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann asked that donations be made in her name to a fund that will be used to purchase items for patient rooms on the stem cell floor at Medical City of Dallas, her home away from home for the past six months. People may send donations to the Mary’s Project Memorial Fund, c/o Chase Bank, 2051 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
