HERNDON — William A. “Bill” Bohner Jr., 80, of Herndon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.
He was born March 2, 1933, to the late William A. Sr. and Susan (Dieter) Bohner. William married the love of his life, the former Elizabeth “Betty Jane” Kaminskie, on Oct. 5, 1957, in St. Patrick Church, Trevorton.
William retired after 25 years of service with the state highway department. He also worked at Allen Maurer’s Deer Processing, Wehry Meats and Schwalm’s Butcher Shop. He was employed by Jordan and Lykens townships.
William was a member of St. Patrick Church Trevorton, the Trevorton Patsies Club, the Pillow and Klingerstown fire companies and the Trevorton and Herndon senior action centers. He donated blood faithfully.
William enjoyed sharing his produce from his garden, fishing and camping, watching the birds, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Martha Bohner, of Northumberland, Michael and Lynnette Bohner, of Morristown, Minn., and Mark and Beth Bohner, of Beaver Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Sitlinger, of Herndon; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, four brothers and one sister.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Adrian Gallagher as celebrant.
No viewing will be held on the day of the burial.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Parish Cemetery, Trevorton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William’s memory to the St. Patrick Church Memorial Fund, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, PA 17881.
