NORTHUMBERLAND — David L. Anderson, 81, of Northumberland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, in the SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.
He was born in Sunbury on June 1, 1932, a son of the late William and Dorothy (Ulrich) Anderson. He married the former Dorothy M. Dressler on April 20, 1990.
David served with the Army during the Korean War.
He was formerly employed by the Keystone Forge, Northumberland for 28 years and then owned and operated Anderson’s Auto Body Shop in Northumberland until his retirement.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Northumberland.
David enjoyed remodeling his home and spending time with his dog, Gypsy.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Brett and Eva Anderson, of Elkton, Md. and Wayne and Misty Anderson, of Hughesville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and Fred Steffen, of Middleburg, Janette and Roger Blaker, of Muncy and Michelle Yerger, of Middleburg; one stepdaughter, Bonny Leitzel, of Middleburg; one stepson and stepdaughter-in- law, Brian and Lisa Glass, of Coral Springs, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Richard Glass Jr.; one step grandson, Richard Glass 111; one brother, Earl; and one sister Blanche Rowe.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St. Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the First Presbyterian Church, 114 Queen St., Northumberland, PA 17857, in David’s name.
