Marcella M. Fullmer, 96, Milton

— MILTON — Marcella M. Fullmer, 96, of Center Street, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at the Milton Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Milton, a daughter of the late Paul H. Guffey and Mary G. (Nickles) and William Beacham. On Aug. 14, 1955, she married Leon Fullmer, who preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2012.

Marcella was a 1936 graduate of Milton High School.

She had worked for the W.T. Grant store, Acme Market and First National Bank, all in Milton.

On April 16, 1933, she became a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton. She was a member of the Jolly Girls Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir for many years. She also was a member of the Eastern Star in Milton.

Marcella enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading and writing poetry, and spending time with her family. As a child, she wrote plays for the neighborhood children to perform. She played the harmonica with a childhood band and continued playing into her 90s. With her husband, she enjoyed attending Penn State football games and eating at the Country Cupboard in Lewisburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy A. Stahlnecker, of Milton; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Peggy Fullmer, of Milton; five grandchildren, David Stahlnecker, of Milton, Dale Stahlnecker, of Watsontown, Julie Blanton, of Lewisburg, Melissa Musser, of Milton, and Gretchen Fullmer, of Milton; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin and Merlin Guffey, and two sisters, Elnor Beacham and Thelma Beacham Stephenson.

Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market St., Milton, where the funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating.

Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, and memorial contributions in Marcella’s memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market St., Milton, PA 17847.

Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton.
