SUNBURY — Tommy L. Treas, 75, of Sunbury, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at home, with his family.
He was born in Sunbury on Aug. 12, 1938, a son of the late William Sr. and Blanche (Mull) Treas.
After attending Sunbury High School, he went on to serve his country for four years in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Butterkrust Bakery after 22 years and then worked for Sunbury Community Hospital in housekeeping and was a supervisor when he retired in 2010.
He was a member of Miller’s Crossroads Church, Sunbury, and American Legion Post 201 and was a former Little League coach.
He enjoyed hiking, baseball, the outdoors, dancing, country music, mowing lawns, grilling, outdoor picnics and especially children.
On March 23, 1995, he married Bonnie M. Ruppert, who survives, along with his children, Tom Treas and Doug Treas, of Sunbury, and Melanie Culp, of Shamokin; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Lisa Brosious, Lori Geise, Julie Keely and Bethany Treas, all of Sunbury; seven stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles, Donald, Gary, Mike, Danny, Larry, Elizabeth Dauberman, Margaret Witmer, Sandra Gross, Dona Hetrick and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him were three brothers, William, Jack and Robert, and two sisters, Mary and Shirley.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 10:55 a.m. Saturday, June 14, followed by a life celebration memorial service in Miller’s Crossroads Church, 1929 Plum Creek Road, Sunbury. Pastor Michelle Beisel will be the celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Miller’s Crossroads Church.
