— NEW COLUMBIA — Sandra G. “Sandy” Hollenbach, 70, of New Columbia, entered into rest on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born April 3, 1944, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Glenn and Carrie (Brouse) Herman. On Aug. 30, 1963, she married Jerry R. Hollenbach, who survives.

After graduating from Selinsgrove High School in 1961, Sandy was employed by the Rea & Derick drugstore in Sunbury, Grose’s Silk Mill, Selinsgrove, Herander Pontiac, Lewisburg, and East End Auto Sales, Mifflinburg. In 1988, Sandy began her real estate career at Classic Realty, of Lewisburg, discovering her love of the real estate business, and had been employed by Villager Realty, Lewisburg, for the last 10 years.

Along with her husband, Sandy was an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, (Twin Churches), Lewisburg, serving in a number of positions, including church treasurer. She also was involved in community service, volunteering often with her local Lions club.

Sandy enjoyed going to new places, recently traveling to Branson, Mo., with her husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, playing Scrabble and dominoes, cooking holiday meals with her sister, reading by the lake on a yearly Canadian fishing trip, shopping with her daughter-in-law and showing houses to potential homeowners.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Emily Hollenbach; one grandson, Benjamin Hollenbach; one sister and one brother-in-law, Darwin and Darlene Steininger; two brothers- and-sisters-in-law, Paul and Betty Blyler and Gary and Anne Berger; and three nieces, Devin Brubaker, Renee Vonada and Paula Okkerse.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kragel Herman, who died in infancy.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev. Stephen Payson officiating.

Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Kratzerville.

At Sandy’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
