Dixie L. Ranck, 78, White Deer

— WHITE DEER — Dixie L. Ranck, 78, of White Deer, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.  

Born in New Columbia on July 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Stewart and Helen (Wallize) Ranck. He was married to the late Mabel (Bieber) Ranck.

Dixie graduated from Milton High School and served in the Navy. He worked at Koppers, Inc. in Montgomery. Dixie raised show rabbits and birds. He was a loving husband, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by one sister, Patsy J. Bieber, of White Deer, and many nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Robert Ranck, and a stepbrother, Harry Balliet.

Friends and relatives will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St. Milton, followed by the funeral  at 1 with the Rev. John E. Lee officiating.  

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
